EXTERNSHIP
WHAT IS EXTERNSHIP?
In order to enhance your learning experience we require our students to partake in an externship. This is done right after completing your classroom component of the class. You are to put to practice the skills you have acquired, in a real patient setting. We will match you to a site where you will be working with patients in a doctors office or medical facility. You must complete a minimum of 160hours of externship.
OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS
We currently work with over 400 different sites varying in medical specialties. These include but are not limited to: Family practice, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Dermatology, Internists, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Urgent Care medicine etc..
TO START EXTERN
You MUST make an appointment to meet with Mrs. Gonzalez so she can set you up for your site placement. You can schedule an appointment by calling 562) 940-6206. You will need to email her a copy of your most recent & updated resume to: [email protected] or [email protected]
In order to go to externship you must be meeting extern criteria. This includes passing all class components, meeting attendance requirements and have your balance paid off.
